Avon, despite his protests of selfishishness, constantly helped people, whether they be friends, Anna, strangers or enemies. And generally at no benefit to himself, in fact the opposite. There is lots of evidence of this in the series. That is why Avon is the only one who is credited with saving entire civilizations or entire groups, not Blake.

On the other hand, Blake rarely helped people and when he did, it was usually for self-serving reasons. On the rare occasion, Blake may have helped someone, but usually it was a half-assed attempt because he didn't really care that much or because he had nothing better to do at the time. Blake never gave up a mission or delayed it just to help someone.

At the end of the day, when Blake genuinely cares about something, he lets no one and nothing stop him, he listens to no one, he lies, manipulates, threatens and bullies until he gets exactly what he wants and never ever gives up. So when any weak excuse stops him from carrying out something, it's because Blake barely cared, he was just going through the motions because it was expected of him.

There are 4 reasons why Blake helps people or appears to:
1) He has a use for them
2) They're people like him (vicious or violent fighters) so it serves his goals
3) He has more to gain from not killing them
4) He has a personal agenda that benefits himself

In Aftermath, Blake had no problems contacting Zen. None at all. So why all of a sudden, is it so hard to find Blake? Too many rumours? Give me a break. You can only believe that if you actually delude yourself that Avon loved Blake and couldn't do without him.

Even if by some strange reason, Blake could no longer contact them, Blake could very easily use innocuous information to identify himself to Avon and the others, only information the crew would know. Servalan and the Federation wouldn't have a clue because they would have no way of separating it out from any rumours that were already being circulated by people who didn't know Blake.

I just found this and thought others might find it useful. It appears that you can access many TV shows online on Yahoo! These range from many old ones (like Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Time Tunnel, etc.) to new shows like Heroes, Sanctuary, etc. Almost 300 in total. And they're not just clips. They're either full episodes and in some cases entire seasons. Unfortunately, no B7.

I don't get it, I really don't. I had an entire Chapter finished. I swear I did.

It was a mainly Jenna chapter and...I CAN'T FIND IT!!!! ANYWHERE!!! ARGHHH!

In fact the entire 10th story is MISSING from my datakey! And my computer and laptop only have the older version!!! EEEKKKK!!! So I am now missing one entire chapter and two incomplete chapters. AHHHH!!!!

Someone tell me I'm going to wake up and find that it's all a dream...or I'll find my brain somewhere and it will tell me where it all went...

Author's note: I have been learning to give more focus to the women in this story. It hasn't been easy as so much of the show was hogged by the men. With some invaluable help, encouragement and suggestions, it has slowly become easier. I still find it hard having the women interacting with each other without at least referencing the men but it is getting there.

As a result, there has been a major readjustment of scenes and paragraphs in Chapter Two due to some material that is being inserted. I have split Chapter Two and inserted a large section of the new interaction here. The boys breakfast conflict has been moved to a later chapter. As always, new material marked in blue.

Author's note: Even though I'm still in the planning stages for this story, I am posting the first chapter before I'm tempted/pressured to change it. It has nothing to do with Avon protesting strongly that he has nothing to do in this chapter or his demands that I make him seem less stubborn...at least that's what I'm telling him. So everyone back me up.

I know that everyone wanted more humour and ship board life scenes and you will be getting those, plus some action with the women of the crew kicking butt on Chandar. There was a problem in writing the Cally, Reya and Corinne scene. After having the spotlight on the boyz for so long, it was very difficult to just focus on the women.

Jenna's journey, by its nature will mainly be angst and action. Can't help that, she's not in a humourous mood these days.

Woohoo! I finally have a title for the 10th story of B7: Perceptions: A Difference of Visions

In case people are wondering why my story posts appear to be missing...they are.

I thought that having a poll about Jenna would help but with the latest results in, now the vote is tied...arghh

On the good news front...I've finished two and a half, non-consecutive chapters for the new story.

The frustrating news...I still haven't finalized what the story is about yet.

I have three minor plotlines set now, mainly humour ones.

I'm still trying to decide on two main plotlines, neither of which is complete. One will definitely be the Jenna story but the decision is whether to give the women/Chandar story more prominence and match it with Jenna's storyline.

EDIT: The boys are complaining bitterly that they don't get to do anything fun in this story and are threatening to go on strike.

EDIT: Now the boys are pouting because it was pointed out to them that going on strike would be perfect. They're not supposed to be doing anything in this story other than providing support to the women and comic relief.

EDIT: Sigh. Some of them appear to be offended at the thought of being only support. I can almost hear the wheels turning in Avon's head.

The last poll was 3-2 in favour of Jenna returning to the crew. The next story will have a large chunk of the Jenna storyline in preparation for the final story of Perceptions.

I'm still working on ideas for the gap story. As a result, I've included another poll.

IKEA HAS ANNOUNCED IT'S INTENTION TO
TAKE OVER GM, FORD & CHRYSLER AND TO SELL CARS.

Mysteries and Discoveries is now finished with Chapter 43 but I have a dilemma because I can't start on the Perceptions of Truth story yet.

The Jenna storyline was pushed to the side during Mysteries and Discoveries because there were too many things going on. Her journey has to be progressed much farther before I can do the final story.

So I am currently taking stock of where I am in the long-term plots front and trying to come up with ideas on what to do with the gap story.
