My colleagues and I are going to a place called the Old Spaghetti Factory at lunch. I've heard great things about the pasta here and I'm sooo hungry in anticipation that I checked out the online menu.
All meals include soup/salad, sourdough bread, ice cream and coffee/tea. They even offer gluten-free spaghetti. Now, I'm starving. How many more minutes until lunch? Seconds?
EDIT: Back from the Old Spaghetti Factory. It definitely lived up to its reputation. The moment you sit down, they bring loaves of warm sourdough bread on a small chopping board to your table. Thick minestrone soup. Great fresh pasta of course.
The place had a nostalgic feel to it with music dating from the 60s to the 80s. Book shelves with old books lining the upper half of the walls. An old streetcar inside the restaurant, with an old red fire hydrant next to it (the current ones are yellow). An old elevator being used as a storage station. Period ads dotting the walls.
Somehow going out for lunch on a Monday (rather than the usual Fridays) makes it feel like it's not Monday.
