Yes, not sexist. But more reflecting the show's tendency to minimilize the participation of the women. As you had mentioned the women are in support roles even though they are experts in their own fields and could match most of the men. On the series they were usually regulated to teleport duty or had other minor roles in terms of the main action unless the episode specifically focused on them, which was rare. Both Sally and Jan complained constantly about the lack of roles for their characters. I am hoping to address the imbalance gradually because at the moment the women are mainly filling a support role as well although they are more active.
