The geneticist in me is frowning slightly but that is more due to the terminology. Genetic markers are used to determine differences, not to keep "score". So it's difficult to see what sense "top ten percent of all genetic markers" actually makes, without them specifying just what the markers are that they are talking about. Markers for what? Intelligence I presume is one. But what were the others? DNA repair? visual acuity? psi? Evidently not for height as Avon isn't above average in that respect. Having a genome without any deleterious genetic material at all would be more remarkable and would be considered "high calibre" from the POV of the Ultras.
