Reader response makes a huge difference...LJ isn't as conducive to this as the B7 adult mailing list was. I do find that odd since LJ seems set up for easy commenting and I assume that people post stories looking for responses of some kind, else why take the trouble? Plus it just seems nice to make a response of some kind if you've read someone else's work, unless you really don't like it, to give something back or to encouragement the writer. But I guess it doesn't work that way.
