I tried archery once. I'd learned the basics at summer camp & for Christmas I got a basic set. The swimming pool was empty. I put up the straw filled target down at the deep end (more than 10 feet down) and stood at the shallow end and aimed down at the target.
My arrow went out of the pool and into the neighbor's yard! I sneaked over to check that I hadn't hurt anything/anyone and retrieved the arrow. I never used it again after that. :^)
